Firefox 4 is officially released, though it has been available as a beta release for a while. In celebration of it exiting the beta phase, I have created a new page on GL, the GL Portal.
Firefox 4 is awesome, but I have not figured out how to get the nice, new look yet. I upgraded from version 3, so some features seem to stay from that version. Some tweaking is required of the settings, but it is definitely worth trying. It loads faster than 3, and it looks prettier. It also has some time-saving features built into it.
The GL Portal is designed to be your browser's homepage. It is where I will list useful links for now. In the future, I want to add more features to it, and I may use the portal as the front page if it ever amounts to anything. Who knows, worth trying, right?
Chrome is good, but Firefox is just faster and has better add-on features. I also like Firefox 4's new interface, but it is taking some time to completely figure everything out. It is still nowhere near as intuitive as Google's masterpiece.
I would enjoy Firefox, it's just that we haven't had the best history together

Yeah, I understand, but there really isn't an end-all solution, though. Firefox has its uses, and it's the most secure with its AdBlock Plus and NoScript add-on modules, but Chrome is definitely the winner as far as ease of use is concerned. Just a reminder, I posted a guide to internet safety, and I recommended Chrome over Firefox.

Nice. I could never properly appreciate Firefox, because on the family computer at my house it would crash when running two things like Grooveshark and Facebook. Right around when I got a computer for personal use, Chrome came out and I tried it and could never get off it
. Chrome is very user-friendly if you don't really want to worry about any add-ons that some people do. Although there are a few extensions that come in handy, like Aviary and GMail.
